BKB is an abbreviation of “Bebek Kepahiang Babase”. The word “Kepahiang” is taken from the name of an area in Bengkulu Province which is also the name of a type of fruit that can be used as a cooking spice and is better known as “Keluwak”. This fruit grows there so much that it has become the name of the area. Meanwhile, the word “Babase” is a word in the Lembak Bengkulu language, a language used in the Kepahiang area, which means invitation or welcome.
